The Scottish artist Roderick Buchanan (born 1965) loves games and sport. He makes them both themes of his work. One game is of special interest to him: football repeatedly appears in his videos, photographs and installations. These include photo series of fans, of the players of rival Glasgow clubs Celtic and Rangers and organizing the ARTCUP, in which only footballing artists may take part. Roderick Buchanan was born in Glasgow in 1965, studied at the Glasgow School of Art and still lives and works in the city today. He won the Becks Futures Prize in 2000 and represented Great Britain at the Indian Triennial 2005. Buchanan has presented solo exhibitions at venues including Camden Arts Centre (2006), the Imperial War Museum, London (2011) and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh (2012).
