Since 2006, kitev (Kultur im Turm e.V.) has been working as a laboratory, artists' collective and hub for regional and international art projects in Oberhausen. kitev is based in the water tower at Oberhausen's main train station, which is not only a venue for events, but also a contact point and accommodation for international artists. The projects of the group around Agnieszka Wnuczak, Christoph Stark and Stefan Schröer are based on self-empowerment. They are interdisciplinary in nature and deal intensively with the social and urban conditions on site, often over long periods of time. Among kitev's most recent projects are Refugees' Kitchen, a kitchen mobile operated by refugees, and the performance in the Oberhaus, a high-rise residential building not far from the main train station. During Ruhr Ding: Territorien, kitev will realize several actions in the Oberhaus and offer an insight into numerous projects developed by the collective over the past years.
