Ariane Loze’s video works are, from beginning to end, self-produced in the spirit of a one-woman show, in that she plays all the roles herself, being the camerawoman and lighting technician, and responsible for the script, sound and editing. The dialogues between her characters, who only encounter each other in the cutting room, are improvised during filming. Loze’s surreal-like narratives frequently create virtuoso moments of tension and draw on both personal experiences and observations of current social developments. Ariane Loze is presenting a film work at the former Europapalast cinema in Oberhausen, produced there shortly before the exhibition opening, dealing with the social premises of political revolutions. The project is being organised in collaboration with the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen. Ariane Loze [born 1988] lives in Brussels.
